Father’s Day Acting Class

Father's Day Acting Class

PART ONE of a lesson in TWO parts. Topic: Father’s Day. Language Focus: set phrases with “make”. Levels: intermediate to advanced.

Fathers day is coming on 18th June. For all the fathers it is an important day, because they expect some acknowledgement from their offspring about their fatherhood. A lot has been written about mother and her role in raising her children. Some people compare Mother with God. What about father? How to you propose to let your father know about his value in your life? Let me give you some ideas about using Father’s day ecards.

Before you think of acknowledging your fathers role in your life, please go back to your childhood. Think of all the instances, everything where your father helped you, taught you and made you feel safe? Think about what would have happened if your father were not there? Thank him in your mind for bringing you in this world and then begin selecting some ecards or egreeting cards for your father.

Send an ecard that will make your father feel good. Let him know by your selection of fathers day ecard about his true value for you. Let him feel the warmth of your love in the Fathers Day ecard. Choose a color that he likes. The Father’s Day ecard should make him feel that you are very near. That will depend upon the text you chose. Select Fathers Day ecard with heat touching text. Send your father love and thanks on this Fathers Day with a lovely fathers Day ecard. Let him know that he did something great by bringing you up.

I found a video that illustrate the father day. I hope this video can explain more our understanding about father day

Folks, I got an email ask about father day. Please, if you know better I hope you will help me to answer it.

I'm looking for the different many ways you can pernounce father as in fathers day?
I'm creating a fathers day special and I want to make a flyer, so i was wondering how many different ways are there to say father?

I think $45 each is toooooo much. But I'd say $20 each, depending on how elaborate they are. Are they large, small, lots of decorations, …?? You didn't give us much info. If they are sheet cakes, say 12 x 15?? Then about $20 each. If they are elaborate, then maybe as much as $30.

Have him write out two paragraphs on lined paper about what a great guy his SF is, with at least one specific reference to a time they had together that he remembers fondly. Dad will treasure it the rest of his life.

Take dictation if your son can't write yet.

  12. If you have had an ultrasound already, it might be sweet to make a copy of the picture and frame it. You could give it to him over a nice dinner. I have seen "Expecting Fathers" cards at the store, too!

    Congratulations to you both!

Maybe a photo book from http://www.smilebooks.com, they make really nice sentimental gifts. I would fill it up with your most memorable photos going back from your first date until recently. Ideally a family portrait on the last page would be great. You can use PV25 as a coupon code to save 25% at the check out page.

Try the breed selector quiz and see what breed(s) show up that are right for you and your family.

  17. ON your father – I'm guessing the best gift your father could want from you is to spend time with you. Is there a zoo that you could go to together? Is there an amusement park? Can you go to a movie together? Can you go to dinner together? Trust me! Father's cherish the time with their children, not so much the objects given as gifts.

ON your sister – the point of giving is to bring joy to that person. You should not expect anything in return. Also, keep in mind it's your sister. Show her by example, give her something, or better yet, spend time with her or treat her to something such as a pedicure, masssage or movie.

In addition, or in place of any gift, make a list of the reasons why you appreciate him. Perhaps have it inscribed on a wall plague.

If your father, or grandfather, has passed away, take the list, a small jar, and a spade, to his grave site. Read the list to him, than place the list in the jar, and bury it there.

Please don't get a joke card. In my 20+ years of working with fathers, it has been rare that a joke card that makes fun of his abilities is really appreciated.

I wrote this to "Dear Abby" for Father's Day, March 19, 2005.

APPRECIATION FOR JOB WELL DONE IS WHAT FATHERS WANT TO HEAR

DEAR ABBY: Today is Father's Day, so why don't we try to do more for dear old Dad than give him the usual greeting card that promotes the idea that all dads are imbeciles, followed by a collect call to see what he thought of the card. (Father's Day is the day when the most collect calls are made.)

We should treat our fathers the way we treat our mothers on Mother's Day and show them we appreciate them for being there. Yes, you probably tell your father all the time that you love him, but the minds of men work differently. Anyone can say "I love you," but as men, knowing that we are appreciated for a job well done is what really gets us teary-eyed.

Something else you can do — especially you sons out there (but daughters can do it, too) — is to make sure Dad has been to the doctor for a checkup, including depression screening. This can go a long way toward making sure he's here on Father's Day next year.

I wasn't raised by my father, but by a stepfather. Although we did not see eye-to-eye on many things, I would not be the person I am today if it were not for him. This man, who spent years climbing on top of heavy construction equipment to prepare the ground for many of the homes, businesses, roads and highways of Southern California, now finds it difficult to get into a car. Although none of the houses or roads have his name on them, they are all testaments to his life and the lives of men like him.

So today, let's do something extra for Dad, without him pulling out his wallet to pay for it. — George McCasland, Overland Park, Kansas
