Fathers Day Gift Ideas

Fathers Day Gift Ideas

My Fathers day gift from Cody…

Fathers’ day was created early in the twentieth century to complement an existing day for honouring mothers, known as Mothers Day. The day was set up to complement fathers on their fatherhood duties. The idea largely came about soon after the rise in the Suffragette movement, when women started competing for equal rights. As soon as women wanted more, men decided that they wanted equality in other places too. And since this day, fathers across the globe are able to celebrate their contribution to parenting.

Fathers can only celebrate this day if they have a son or daughter and the son and/or daughter commemorates them for this day. This normally means a last minute panic buy from the local shops as siblings rush to buy presents from just about anywhere they can get their hands on them. Supermarkets are normally a good bet largely due to the wide range of choice available to them including chocolates, aftershave…

FATHERS DAY GIFT IDEAS

But in recent times, presents for Fathers day have become a bit more thought out and specialised as the rise in wealth in the economy means that more people are buying more expensive products. One item in particular that is continuing to sell is that of watches. Watches are becoming increasingly more popular and are being sold up and down the country. One company that has seemed to have cottoned on to this trend is H Samuel who has a wide selection of watches http://www.hsamuel.co.uk/webstore/watches.do.

Cards are also bought either to complement the present or on their own. Some cards are purchased in newsagents and card shops and others are hand-made. Hand-made cards tend to have special poems written that are personal to the sibling and their father.

Whatever card and/or present is bought, fathers worldwide will be happy enough just to be appreciated for the day and given the credit they deserve; providing of course they have deserved it.

I found a video that illustrate the fathers day gifts. I hope this video can explain more our understanding about fathers day gifts

Folks, I got an email ask about fathers day gifts. Please, if you know better I hope you will help me to answer it.

Fathers day gifts for a cop?
I am out of ideas for this man of mine. He is a police officer and has every sort of tactical thing you can imagine. I would have our kids make him a special something but they are only 3years old and 11 months. Flowers arent his style, and he already has shavers and gadgets for the computer and camera. I've also looked at flashlights, duty gear, and boots. I'm tellin you the man has everything. Any suggestions?
I forgot to add he just bought a new 500 Smith and Wesson.

  3. A dated hand-print…then write the poem….

    "Sometimes you get discouraged
    because I am so small
    and always leave my fingerprints
    on furniture and walls.
But, everyday I am growing up
and soon I'll be so tall, that all
    those little handprints will be
hard to recall. So here's a
little handprint, just so you can
say…this is how my handprint looked
when I placed it here today."

Almost forgot….take a picture of her with an inky hand
and be sure to write "Happy Father's Day–2009"
on the picture and poem. It makes a wonderful wall hanging and keepsake.

  4. I'm in Australia and I've been thinking about this too. This will be my husbands first Fathers Day.
-If you have a good printer then you can print out some nice pictures of your family and make your own calender for 2010.
-Breakfast in bed is always a winner.
-I know places like KMart and BigW have photo centres where you can put a picture on a mug, mouse pad, stuff like that.
-Get some non-toxic paint and get your 13 month old to do some finger painting or make some hand prints.
    Good luck and have fun

Maybe a photo book from http://www.smilebooks.com, they make really nice sentimental gifts. I would fill it up with your most memorable photos going back from your first date until recently. Ideally a family portrait on the last page would be great. You can use PV25 as a coupon code to save 25% at the check out page.

Make a gift basket out of a fishing hat, fill it with swedish fish, gummy worms, a fishing movie like A River Runs Through It, other fishing things.

    OR

A Car Wash gift basket made out of a new bucket, filled with a nice sponge, chamois cloths, car wash soap or wax, some race car shaped gummy candy, maybe a car movie that you find in the 5 dollar bin at walmart.

You can go a long way with some cute things assembled together in a themed basket, made out of something that's not really a basket! Baseball hats work too.

For your preschoolers, maybe just get a box of Mr. Goodbar candybars, and have them make a wrapper to go around it with a cute saying or a picture they have drawn.

He sounds like a great guy who wouldn't want his child to spend a lot of money on him. A nice card would be great, but if you want to get him something a little more, consider:

Have a friend take a goofy photo of you using a digital camera. Print it out at your local store, and find a cute frame.

A new baseball hat representing his favorite team.

A fun frisbee or other outdoorsy throw-toy you can all play together. (There's a new version of Twister, where the board is also a frisbee.)

If he doesn't have TIVO, tape a bunch of reruns of his favorite shows so he can watch them anytime.

A pair of movie tickets, and a promise to go with him to whatever movie he wants to see (quality time < $20)

You are so amazing, it’s unbelievable! If it wasn’t because I had seen that painting getting paint from scrath, I would’ve thought it was the real deal xD

Seriously, I think if you drew an alien spaceship and send it into NASA, and you said it was a picture you had taken, they would believe you xD
