I would be upset as well, and rightly so. That was very insensitive for him to act that way. He needs to be consistent, act the same when he's around his friends as when he's alone. He also needs to show more appreciation for things, especially you and the kids. It should mean 100 times more to him that you and the kids would take the time and thought and effort to make him something (and save HIS money) and he should show that.
Who knows or cares. It's just tradition. Chocolate is an interesting issue to get worked up on.
Yes, I believe we will always remember the Feasts. I don't know, for sure (at this point), whether they all will be observed forever. I can only be sure of the new moons and the Seventh-day Sabbath — though it would stand to reason that the following reference to "sabbath" could also be applied to the Annual Sabbaths.

I've copied your post for further study and to share with the growing movement, here in the U.S., of Seventh-day Adventist Feast-keepers. We hold a free eight-day camping retreat twice a year in California — in the spring for Passover/Unleavened Bread and in the fall for Tabernacles. I am excited to "meet" Joseph (maybe I knew him in the premortal?) someday… I love him for all he did for the restoration of the gospel and for his love of those early members and furture members like me. I know with all my heart he truly saw and spoke with God our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know everything he did was for our benefit and in obedience to his commands the Lord had given. The movie in SLC at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building right now "Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration" is SOOOO wonderful and powerful. Anyone who lives near by or visits Utah should go see that movie.
Yes, I have read the Book of Mormon several times and I know without a shadow of a doubt it is truly words inspiried for us and was translated by Joseph through the power of Almighty God.
I testify any person who prayerfully reads the Book of Mormon and studies the gospel and lives by its teachings will become closer to God than by any other way. I love my Heavenly Father and I love my Savior, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
