This well-loved Little Critter picture book has become a modern classic. It’s the tale of a father-and-son camping trip filled with Little Critter’s mistakes and good intentions. In spite of difficulties, however, the happy father and son manage to put up their tent, catch fish for dinner, and sleep beneath the stars. In spite of minimal text, the story is full and rich, with endearing illustrations from start to finish.

The Little Critters in the book are a cross between trolls, bears, and porcupines . . . and they certainly are humorous to consider. This book is perfect for the 2-5 year old set. As your child gets older, this book will also make a good beginning reader. The idea of going camping alone with Dad will be encouraged by the story (especially if you reassure your child that bears are unlikely to take her or his fish). While many people would assume this is about a father and son, there is no language to say so. Only the blue overalls give any hint of sex, so I think the book will work well for daughters. The story involves a camping trip. Mom waves goodbye, and the father and child are off. The father lets the child participate in as many ways as possible, even though it doesn’t always work out. For example, the spot the child picks out to camp on turns out to be occupied by a porcupine and a snake!The high point of the trip is when the child catches a fish. Dad takes a picture, and the child starts to cook the fish. Then the bear comes and snatches the fish out of the frying pan! I know from our children that fishing seems to provide endless fascination at this age. We always taught our children to carefully release the fish. Eating them is good too. The book ends with “We slept in our tent all night long — just me and my dad.” At these ages, children are not always eager to do things without Mom. But Mom needs a break sometimes, and many Dads love to do a little direct bonding which this book will encourage. The illustrations are bright, lovingly detailed, and humorous in as many ways as possible. They are rendered in either gouache or water color. I couldn’t quite tell which medium was used. Of special note are a tiny cricket or grasshopper and a spider that humorously accompany the father and child. This illustrated story within a story is worth the price of the book alone. Small children will naturally gravitate towards these little creatures and want to point them out with their tiny fingers. Make wonderful laughing connections with this book!After your child is comfortable with it, I suggest that you plan a little camping trip to find out how your child likes the actual experience. Naturally, some fishing might be in order!

This book is about a little critter that gets to go on a camping trip with his dad. They do alot of different things together, but the little critter always tried to help his dad with everthing and always messed it up. Even though little critter messed some things up they still had a nice time together. I would recommend this book to anyone, because its a nice book to read and learn from. This book teaches that you should spend time with your family and even if you mess anything up still have a nice time with them.

Both, you see, have been told they are the boy’s father by Nastassja Kinski, with whom each had once been involved. This Disney production is based on the more humorous French farce, Les Compères, by Francis Veber (who cowrote this adaptation). It has its moments as breezy entertainment, but the plot is sloppy enough to seem more like slapstick than sophisticated comedy. The gags are contrived, and it fails to unfold with believability, or grace. More interesting than the writing are the performances, as Crystal brings surprising depth to his cynical lawyer and Williams is exceptionally fine-tuned as a suicidal and dippy writer with a very kind heart. –Rochelle O’Gorman

This movie really is pretty funny. Crystal is always funny and Williams, well, what can I say… the guy is funny even if he’s not trying to be! Crystal plays a straight-laced lawyer while Williams plays a total psychotic, who really wants to believe he has a son so he’ll have a reason to stay partially sane.This movie’s plot may be a bit thin, but who cares because the cast is great. The short version of the plot is that a worried mother recruits two men to find her runaway teenage son. How does she get them to agree to find him? She tells each of the men(obviously not thinking that they may run into each other while searching for the boy) that he is the father. This leads to a silly comic pairing.There are all kinds of great things in this movie. Crystal and Williams are great together. Mel Gibson makes a cameo– watch closely because you might not recognize him!! The band Sugar Ray is also in the movie. Cool things like that!This may not satisfy a hunger for laugh out loud, slap on the knee kind of funny, but it’s still funny, with a charming ending.

The movie is entertaining and a good way to spend about two hours. Robin Williams predictable. This was not one of his better performances. Billy Crystal’s performance was outstanding. I would not recommend this film for anyone under 15. There are some serious adult issues in it. It can be a bit heavy for younger viewers.

She wants to spend Father’s Day with her Dad doing all the things he loves. Instead they do the things she loves to do and like every good Dad he goes along and pretends they are his favorite things too. It seems like he’s thinking, “without her I wouldn’t be celebrating this day”. Any father would love to read this book to his child and cherish it as a gift.

I’m often surprised at people’s expectations in a product, especially my own. You see an ad on TV and you just know how much it’s going to change your life for the better.What this product does well is fits multiple shapes and sized screws and nuts for quick removal. I used it to tighten the lag bolts and screws on my son’s play structure. It worked on 90 % of the hardware. I also used it in conjunction with my cordless drill to remove numerous eye hooks, bolts, screws, etc that weren’t needed anymore. This would have taken several frustrating hours without the Gator Grip.What this product does less well is install bolts, screws, and nuts. It’s springloaded which makes it awkward holding the hardware while installing. Just like any socket or wrench made, you need to have the tool squarely placed on the item you’re using it on. Otherwise it may slip.Overall, the Gator Grip met my expectations, made certain chores easier and allowed me more leisure time with my family.

If you know one of those poor souls whose toolbox consists of an 18″ long slotted screwdriver, Grandpa’s hammer, and hacksaw , then this is the essential nut and bolt tool for them.

Within six months of getting a Gator Grip for Christmas, it was indispensable in two large projects–refitting new lumber on an old rotten picnic table, and in putting up a new garage door opener.

The other reviewers are correct–it’s NOT FOR EVERY JOB. Because the pins are cylindrical, it occasionally slips on the bolt head, and it lacks the gripping strength needed for working on something like your car engine. And it WILL NOT remove a nut if there is more than 1/4 inch of bolt sticking out the back end.

HOWEVER, if you are up on a ladder, and/or working with many odd-sized nuts and bolts, this tool is a Godsend. For overall home maintenance, play set assembly, garage door opener installation, or putting together knockdown furniture, it can’t be beat. (I only cussed about fourteen times while installing my new Garage door opener, and that was a record!)

As a GIFT, I’d recommend this tool especially for those people who are NOT handy around the house.

This would be a great gift for the independent female in your life–the one who does the home remodeling herself, or for a couple’s first home/apt. Although I haven’t used it on a bike, I’d think it’d be an excellent addition to the cyclist’s tool bag.
